Our Fair Housing event is a trade show offering one-on-one conversations with mortgage officers, realtors, title professionals, home inspectors, and so much more! The Columbiana Area and Salem Area Chambers of Commerce are pleased to offer an inspirational presentation for women, by women.

"Breaking Barriers, Building Confidence: Unleashing Women's Potential in the Workplace" will be led by Mandy McIntyre of Level Up Consultants at the Columbiana Cultural Collective on March 25th, with opening remarks from House Representative Monica Robb Blasdel and Dr. Anita Hackstedde, President/ CEO of Salem Regional Medical Center.

Our event begins at 9 am and should run for about 2 hours. This is a free event, with doors opening at 8 am.  Light refreshments will be served courtesy of Humtown Industries. For more information, please get in touch with your local Chamber office.

Lance Willard, City Manager of Columbiana, will deliver his State of the City Address. This event is open to all. Join us at the Vagabond Theater on February 13th from 10 to 11 am. This event is open to the public.

Rick Whitfield is a 2003 Columbiana High School graduate and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Ashland University where he majored in Criminal Justice. He has worked for over 18 years in law enforcement. He started his career in Goshen Township and Lisbon Village, then went to the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office and hired full-time in his hometown in 2011. He has worked alongside many state and federal agencies while investigating crimes in Columbiana, which have included: simple and felonious assault, burglary, robbery, fraud, computer crimes, sexual assault, and homicide.

He has professional training through the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and have completed the Master Criminal Investigator program which includes training in interview and interrogation, crime scene photography, death investigation, drug identification, computer crimes and sexual assault investigation.

He is the Columbiana Police Department's Training Officer and is in charge of developing and implementing our Field Training Program through our trained Field Training Officers. He is also responsible for developing and presenting annual training plans to the Chief of Police and ensuring that our officers are in compliance with annual training requirements set by the State of Ohio.

Rick is also assigned to be a Member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force which is a national network of 61 task forces and helps to identify and prosecute offenders that victimize children over the internet.

Let's Ignite the Light of Community and Celebration! Join us for a special edition of the Columbiana Christmas Parade as we honor the visionary Paul Rance, remembering his joyous dream of transforming our Holiday Parade into an evening spectacle. This year, Paul Rance's family, including his cherished wife Dawn, will illuminate the Christmas Tree on City Square at 6 pm, signaling the start of our festive procession from Joshua Dixon.

Expect a magical evening filled with awe-inspiring sights, jolly sounds, and a strong community spirit. As always, Santa will grace us with his presence before journeying to the Ice Castle at the enchanting Joy of Christmas light display in Firestone Park.

But the cheer continues! Downtown merchants are primed to extend that warm holiday glow with open-house specials, hot chocolate, popcorn, music, and endless family fun.
